
Google has tried to soften the blow by making it known that their data is collected anonymously, but even anonymity doesn't make the pill easier to swallow. While we generally accept this as a necessary evil to keep our phones cheap and apps free, that doesn't necessarily have to be the only solution. It seems like every week there is a new exposé revealing all of the backroom deals companies make to sell their customer's data to the highest bidder.
